| Hi there, I have searched but cannot find an answer I can be sastified with, please share your input. I did an auto to manual conversion and I understand I got 20 hp less due to milder cams the autos comes with. I am going to be purchasing some manual intake cams which came out of an N/A, I was told. My first question is, how can I tell the difference between an auto vs manual cam? I dont want to buy another auto cams and have them installed , lol. As far as I know and according to my research, the intake cames from manual N/A and turbos are all the same. Also, the intake cams are the only thing I was told to replace in order to gain back my 20 ponies. My idea is to replace the intake cam during my next 120k kit replacement, I will do the timing belt and it looks like I just need to pull off the plenum, intake valve covers and pop the cams off and insert the new used ones. Is 80 bucks for the cames a good price btw?
One last question, has anyone on this board changed the cams from Auto to Manual? hard job? did you notice a good HP increase after the cam swap?
Thanks everyone.
